Sometimes you lose things β a hard drive, a repo, a backup you swore existed somewhere. Thatβs what happened with this site. The old source code vanished, and I was left with a live page and no way to change it.
So I rebuilt it. Same design, same spirit, but this time with a proper blog section.
Why a blog?
Notes are great for one-liners, but some ideas need more room. A blog gives me space to share:
- Build logs β what Iβm working on and how itβs going
- Lessons learned β mistakes worth documenting
- Random curiosities β things that caught my attention
The stack
This site runs on Astro, a static site generator that ships zero JavaScript by default. Blog posts are plain Markdown files β no CMS, no database, just files in a folder.
Make the first version small enough to finish, then let the real world tell you what it needs.
Thatβs exactly what this is. A small start.
// Simple, like the site itself
const posts = await getCollection('blog');
const sorted = posts.sort((a, b) => b.data.date - a.data.date);
More posts coming soon. Stay curious.
